Narratives

Narratives are wikis that present one or more arguments, with the expectation that you will follow a sort of "trail" through the pages in order to grok the argument.

I thought programmers use metaphors a lot. I now think we use metaphorical *words*, but we don't actually use *metaphor*.

Unscrupulous authors often lie in supposedly-factual books. Being sure they're lying is a lot of work, which they count on you not doing. Here are some cheaper heuristics to get a good idea of whether this author is a liar.

Because my parents grew up in Nazi Germany and experienced first-hand the destruction fascism causes, I keep a weather eye out for fascism in my home (the USA)

Narrative is a way to persuasively convey ideas. Vannevar Bush had the idea of "trails" in his original hypertext proposal. These are narratives. How do you write narratives with hypertext that are as compelling as linear narratives?

I accept the argument that a lot of what our brains do is metaphorical reasoning. What are the consequences?
